It struck me how saying “volcano” overlooks how different they are. In Hawaii it’s famously slow moving lava lots of earthquakes as warning and explosions are not anything like what we saw at Mt St Helens. Guatemala apparently went up suddenly, with pyro ash flows and fast lava that just swept through.
