Honestly, most of them only vote Republican because they advertise themselves as spending more on military budget. It doesn’t even matter if it’s true - they talk a big game, and that makes them the winners in the court of public opinion.

I’m sure of it but years of propaganda of liberals and Democrats as hating the military has worked too and although I’m not a vet myself, I greatly resent that. I’m named after an Army vet. I have ALWAYS always been proud of my family members that served this country from my third great grandmother’s brother who served in the War of 1812 to my Dad’s brother who served in the Vietnam years.
