Rabbi Cytron-Walker and his congregants escaped after throwing a chair at the gunman?? I guess that explains the clip I saw on the news where the door of the shul flew open, and people came barrelling out (followed by Akram waving his gun): Someone Up There must have been looking out for the good rabbi and his peeps: I’m somewhat surprised the cops didn’t open fire immediately (or were they expecting a breakout??).

Did they know the exact number of hostages at that point? Also, though, I would assume their first priority is still capture.
