What Violent Right Wing Rhetoric?

Antisemitism is racism. There are different kids of racism. We all understand that

Advocating the elimination of political adversaries is kind of racism in itself, albeit one couched in political garb. If a progressive calls for the disenfranchisement of conservatives, that progressive is a bigot. If a conservative calls for the disenfranchisement of progressives, that conservative is a bigot.

When either side calls for violence that ratchets up the bigotry to a whole other level. The call be either literal or suggestive.

There was a time in the late 60’s and 70’s the left were far more likely to be involved in violence. The Democrats cleaned house and disavowed themselves from that kind of behavior. Right now, the right is is engaged in that kind of rhetoric far more than the left. That is the reality- and I say that as an unashamed right of center individual.

In a free society one can ands should advocate, even vigorously, for a government that represents their particular point of view. Violence or hate is part of that equation That never includes advocating, justifying or apologizing for violence or bigotry.

‘Soft’ bigotry cloaked in political rhetoric is no different than ‘soft’ Antisemitism cloaked in anti Israel rhetoric.

Let me put it in terms you can relate to.

If you have no problem with the ‘soft’ bigotry of much of the right, don’t tell me you have a problem with ‘soft’ Antisemitism of the left.

They are on and the same.
