It’s funny you say that. I had a conversation about politics yesterday with a guy who claims never to have voted republican. He is well-educated (a pediatrician) and in his view, the Te Part is not run by crazy people. He thinks the whole ideology is a front to get the base voting a certain direction, and that the nominee will then run to the middle. He has failed to observe that the TP wants to break down the First Amendment, deny science, and are generally batshit about any number of topics. Which leads me to ask: Are we here simply over-sensitized?

The idea of the Tea Party, IIRC, was originally inspired by the Boston Tea Party of history. A rant against unfair taxes. Which, I think, most citizens can find one or more reasons to sympathize.

Somehow, it got highjacked or morphed into a bat-shit crazy group of unorganized people with gripes about anything and everything.
