How long will this last? Not long. Scott can say he experiences what the rest of us blacks experience in regard to racism and discriminatory policing, but when it’s time to vote on these issues, he’s going to vote the way McConnell tells him to vote, and this is what makes his comments a waste of time. The man values his seat in Congress more than he values doing what he knows is right.

I often wonder just how one can vote for/with a party that makes it plain that most of its members don’t take your rights, or even your humanity, seriously. I bluntly told a friend of mine who’s gay and a Republican that they don’t want him, that they’ve made it abundantly clear what they think of him. He didn’t unfriend me but he hasn’t “talked” to me since (on FB).
