The problem with broadening impeachment is that it seems House Dems only really have a mandate from the public on going after Trump for his crimes involving Ukraine. I think one of the replies to David is a good approach: Use the opportunity that is presented by a trial in the Senate to present it as part of a vast ocean of crimes Trump has committed, but keep the focus on the crimes for which we have him dead to rights. The simple reality is that Dems had the opportunity to hold Trump to account for the crimes revealed in the Mueller Report, but they punted on the argument that “more investigations are needed.” Going back to that well that the Repubs have already thoroughly poisoned would be a mistake.
