Incidents like this make me wonder if these kinds of crimes are made to order, with the items swiped basically already sold on the private collectors market.

After all, it’s not like the robbers can take their haul down to the local corner pawn shop.

Similar story with figures from the Goldaltar in the church in neighboring Oberwsel. Several pieces were recovered, but a couple are still missing. Investigators think they are in the hands of a Russian deal in Switzerland but the police cannot get to him.
