Yeah I guess that’s why and I guess why we choose to get fascinated by the Brits is our shared language and history with them. It was funny seeing my grandmother and sister in law, who are pretty different in many ways absolutely agreeing about their indifference to the Royals.

Yeah, there’s that too. Britain holds a special place in our hearts because of our commonality. Even though large swathes of this country were historically French and Spanish, it’s the British that we identify with, because colonies and Revolution and the English language.
