I think the stock market ought to be used entirely to reward people for responsibly investing in good companies. Something like shorting is openly calling for abuse; trusting that people won’t do it in this case is what gets us 2008. Shorting is the AR-15 of the stock market.
Nope. Shorting does not destroy anything. Its a relief mechanism for inflated stock prices.
Again - what you need to be worried about are derivative debt holdings which is what caused the 2008 housing, credit, and economic collapse.
Shorting stocks has been well regulated.
