Y’know, if voters knew that when they went to the polls in 2018, the only thing they were realistically voting for was to just put a roadblock in the way of a Republican majority that already was struggling to pass basic bills, I can’t imagine we’d have seen the same turnout as we did. And turnout is the thing that is going to make or break the party next November, which is going to be dependent on convincing voters that there’s a point to showing up. So while I have every intent to show up and voter, I can certainly see now why there would be a lot of voters who wouldn’t see the point when they did just that last November and haven’t seen any payoff.

I’m going to get boring with repeating this, but you have to pound payments, you have to tell people on your street that 2018 could only hold back the catastrophe, but they need to take the second step in 2020 if they want to see things improve. And that won’t be the end either.

This is a long slog, and we have to be prepared and prepare others.
