The scale of the vaccination effort worldwide has to be huge.
SARS-Cov-2 has proven to be nasty. Not as much as the earlier MERS, but still a pretty bad virus for humans.
What I fear is a new mutation that might bring back the MERS fears. In that variation of a coronavirus, the death rate was much higher.
The know-nothings who dismiss COVID-19 have not clue about the danger of having 7 billion incubators on the planet.
And even with a vaccine, it can still be spread (virons go in, then get blown back out, even if they don’t infect you). There’s going to be a whole bunch of people who think they’re safe and don’t have to do things like keep distant or wear masks.
While I am scheduled for my first vaccine Monday in Cheyenne, I’m truly fearful for my wife. (I have no idea about Illinois’s plans, so I don’t know if my mother can get one soon or not.)
