So, I’m watching this old movie for the first time: “Midnight Express”.
Stoopud-ass American kid gets caught with a shit-ton of hash at the airport in Turkey. Goes to Turkish slammer. Gets the Lawrence of Arabia treatment first night.
What’s? The? Point? I’m supposed to feel sorry because he’s American?
Seriously?
I think that is the point. I also feel little sympathy for drug-smugglers who end up in nasty prisons. I can have some sympathy for addicts, but not for those who decided to profit from other people’s misery.
