You do realize—and I think I can safely speak for many of us here—that we get frustrated & angry with you at times precisely because we’re fond of you and believe that at your core you’re a decent guy, right?

You’re not perfect. None of us are, but we all want to be better and help those we care about be better, so when we think we see you getting your tunnel vision and going down a road that’s just plain wrong, we end up smacking you around… Then sometimes we see you say something eloquent and extremely insightful or moving and we feel sort of gob smacked, like “WTF? Where have you been hiding this D_F??”

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that before calling it a night.

Wow. That was a perfect synopsis of what I have thought for years. Two thumbs up.

And DF, I hope this second-party discussion doesn’t make you uncomfortable, but it’s because we really do love you. You just confuse the hell out of us sometimes.
