Powell lecturing the GOP is strained to say the least given that he voted for Obama and campaigned against the GOP candidate. That’s not exactly working to build the party from within.

He is right though that the GOP has to work on reaching out to moderates and independents, but he’s not the guy to make that argument. Neither is McCain. Right now, there isn’t anyone other than maybe Huntsman who can.
