Though I just refreshed the page and the commenter threee below me has a good idea too: building what he calls a “plasma reactor,” to not only incinerate the trash but turn it into energy with zero pollution. What he’s actually referring to is a “plasma arc gasification incinerator” which they already have in Japan and which may indeed be the future of recycling, trash-removal and energy generation. I think this is actually a really good idea. You take trash, and render it into energy and a useful inert road-builiding material — with essentially no pollution or greenhouse gases. Once the plant is built, it creates much more energy than it consumes. It takes in garbage and emits nothing bad. What’s not to like?
