I agree they may try, but the ROK has 300 F-4, F-15, and F-16s, and no small number of Better Tanks and Better Artillery than the NorKs have….

All they have is some baby nukes and some unreliable missiles that can’t get to Hawaii or Alaska and can barely hit the Pacific Ocean. And if they *did* hit Japan or the ROK, the boys and girls at Anderson in Guam would load up the forward-based B-1’s B-2’s, and Buffs with dial-a-yield B-63 gravity weapons and turn everything that isn’t a farm in the North into glowing slag.

You’ll excuse me if I call bullshit. I’ll find the link shortly, but commenter Major Kong (GOS and I think Gin & Tacos) has spoken with authority about the first hour of a NorK conflict. Even a first strike from South Korea and her allies won’t take out the (estimated) 70K artillery tubes loaded and pointed at Seoul. NorK has stated, in the clearest terms possible, that they are first strike weapons, and the initial casualty estimates start at mid-6 figures in the first 60 minutes of the conflict.
