He’s out there in the sticks. The collectors have driven up the prices so much, and Joe alludes to that. Just the investment side of making money has made the entire high end market nuts. I could spend about two days on all that is wrong with it, but a guy like Joe does it for all the right reasons. If you ever see Joe he takes an extensive array of guitars on stage with him. I was at a Philly guitar show one time, and they had a lot of the heavy hitters there. Some of the prices were obscene. Like This
I held a lot of high end vintage in my hands. Some are special, some not. But each hand feels something only that hand can. It’s crazy out there.
I have a few friends who have high end players and that’s what they use, but the thought is always there; WTF am I doing with this in this bar? I never take my eye off my rig. Always have a table up front. Just me being a hack and I carry about 5 grand on stage with me in my rig.
