Incest is the dirty secret of redneck America, not that it’s really much of a secret. I think a lot of this is inadvertent. For instance, a popular small town preacher may father a hundred or more children during a 30 or 40 year career. Since all the women are married and the church is racially uniform, no one is the wiser. Quite a few of these children may then end up marrying each other. The same could happen with local rich boys or even popular musicians. I think we are only a few years from seeing comprehensive scientific proof of this.
