I remember there was a slew of ancient alien, strange planetary collisions, and apocalyptic doom books in the 1970s and ’80s. Now the same subjects pop on cable TV and YouTube.

There’s a market for such bullshit. I bet I could write a parody of them and it would still sell and be believed by a frightening number of people.
