I’m calling the school district this morning to see what they do about this. I also am trying to get in touch with one of my son’s teachers to ask her for an insider’s POV. We live in one of the richest counties in the state, but there are pockets of poverty even in the wealthy areas, the southern part of the county is where the poverty becomes more obvious, but I am certain that there are families here that could use the help. You have to start somewhere, making sure kids can focus on school instead of hunger seems like it should be easy.

It’s also not lost on me that it costs more than a couple of dollars and you have to have a corporate structure to start a non profit organization. Gah.
