re: #172 🌹UOJB!
The only reason I can get any life insurance is because I’m a Federal employee. When I was ordered to pay child support years ago the judge ordered me to get an additional life insurance policy. No company would write a policy for me based on my and my family’s medical records except one that would only write a $2,500 term policy with astronomical premiums which the judge rejected…
I had SGLI when I was in the Navy, plus a John Hancock variable whole-life insurance policy. When my wife divorced me after I was medically separated from the Navy, the court in Florida ordered the whole life policy liquidated and all the money given to my ex-wife. (They also liquidated our mutual fund and gave her all that money as well.)
The Florida court ordered me to get a life insurance policy, but you can’t do that with epilepsy and homeless. Fortunately my ex-wife either didn’t pay attention or didn’t care.
