I have a feeling that we’re not going to get through the day without one of the more willfully-ignorant Congress critters solemnly declaring that the GOP is honoring MLK by introducing legislation to reinstitute literacy tests and explicit poll taxes to help fight voter fraud.

They’d have to be SUPER ignorant, because the legislation they’d have to introduce to bring back poll taxes would have to be a constitutional amendment, to wit, the 24th Amendment:

Section 1
The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay poll tax or other tax.
