re: #145 psyop

I agree completely. If you did serve, and you wish to speak out against war or anything else, I would have no problem with that. I may debate your message or conclusions, but I would defend your platform to speak.

What bothers me is people who pretend to have served (or greatly embellish their record) to lend credibility to their activism, or people who did serve, but then lied about their experiences after for personal or political gain. I almost think it should be a crime to do these things (kind of like impersonating an officer). Or maybe it already is, but no one has the balls to enforce it.

The soldiers ,with whom I served, opinions are the ones I value, if someone else wants to question my service or anything else it’s okay as the guys that were beside me know the real deal. But aside from the fact that I am a vet any employers or potential employers get no other info. As for embellishment of service, those in the public eye tend to have their lies exposed. Remember when Admiral Mike Bourda got busted for wearing a V device on an award that he didn’t receive, he ended up comitting suicide over it. Those that didn’t serve or didn’t serve honorably have no conscience so they wouldn’t lose sleep over not behaving honorably
