Poor man’s choice is the 135 2.0, another fine piece of Canon glass.

Had one (for several years until I sold my Canon stuff a while back.) Another great Canon telephoto.

To me the big thing with Canon is that their raw software has continued to improve and I still think it gives the best color (better than Adobe or Apple software) from the raw files. Plus it’s fun to play with the Style editor to make one’s own curves.
