re: #172 calochortus

Just a random thought on latest email kerfuffle, with a disclaimer: I’m a total Luddite.

Were the emails actually stored on the computer, or were they accessible from the computer? My email isn’t stored on my computer, as far as I know, but I do have access through the wonders of “the cloud.” Likewise, because I know Mr. C’s password, I have access to his email, and can bring it up on my computer with a click*. I’m pretty sure he can access my emails the same way. So maybe Wiener knows Abedin’s password and could therefore access her emails? She wouldn’t have put anything on his computer and wouldn’t know if he accessed them or not.

*Generally I avoid doing this, because his email management is a hot mess (and the content is pretty dull,) but once in a while it’s handy to check on a meeting time or something.

If Weiner was running Outlook on his laptop, and he had it saving emails locally (which I think is the default) they all get saved in an OST or PST file (depending on the type of server you’re connecting to). They can get really large, so it’s not unreasonable.
