So between Huckaboo, Kellywise, and now Kelly The Lesser, the storyline has ceased being that Wilson is a liar (because the family is backing her up) and instead saying that the comment was respectful “in context,” and the “outrage” is that Wilson was in the car at all. As though she forced the family into the car, forced the call to be put on speakerphone, just so she could catch Trump saying something that they see no problem with and telling the press about it.

It’ll work because the brainwashed Trumpists will grasp at any straw in an attempt to avoid questioning the Trump administration. It doesn’t have to make sense, it just has to come from an authority figure.
