I have no idea who this person is, but does Trump think the Navy is a prison or something?

As for President Xi above that, he’s no fool, and China has a very long history of playing fools. I’m sure Mr. Xi knows exactly what buttons to push to make Donald Trump feel special.

Also, I imagine Mr. Xi wants no war in North Korea initiated by the USA or anyone else. If he can stroke Mr. Trump’s ego enough, he might even be able to talk Trump into some sort of “peace in our time” statement and claim credit for it.

President Xi does seem to be interested in centralising power, but he doesn’t strike me either as a narcissist or a fool.
