The meeting with the North Korean envoy is in the New York because North Koreans are prevented from visiting Washington, DC. To enter the USA, this particular general has to have special State Department clearance, because he’s been sanctioned by the USA for his involvement in attacking a Naval vessel. He must stay within New York City, so meetings with him will create a world of security nightmares for the NYPD. And I suppose they will have the meeting in Trump Tower, because of course.

Pompeo is involved. Not sure if the Orange Yam will be present for this meeting. He may be holding out to meet personally with Kim Jong-Un.
