McSally is representative to what’s happened to the GOP as a whole… she won in what used to be AZ-8 as a moderate in a highly competitive district that used to be represented by Gabby Giffords, it incorporates a fair bit of Metro Tucson, offset with a boatload of rural SE AZ comprised of a whole lotta ranchers and small business types that usually gravitate to the GOP, they ARE concerned about the border because the coyotes that traffic people/drugs can be destructive, knocking down fences and vandalizing property and when they started trending more to combing drugs with people, it attracted more violent types… So in short, our drug problem and our illegal border crossing problems here in Southern AZ became intertwined. Giffords believed in enforcement and in attempting to tackle the money aspect of the issue by pushing for not only better enforcement of people coming in, but money going out. McSally, not so much and soon morphed from a military vet who was a trailblazer and who had her own stories of sexual assault while rising thru ranks to leading the GOP cheers to gut the ACA and succumb to the “it’s either them or us” mentality that is so pervasive.

It’s sad to watch some devolve politically like this… I loathe what she stands for and her own personal failings from respected vet to just another Fox spewing fanatic
