I now have a very queesy feeling in my gut. I fear that history will come to see 11 February 2009 as the day The United States Of America, as it was known from the day of it’s birth as a nation until today, has ceased to exist. For 8 years I tolerated the screaming voices on the Left bemoaning Bush’s supposed “shredding of the Constitution”. This very day I have witnessed that document not being shredded,but ignored and over-ridden roughshod by idealogical demogogues. I have at this moment the greatest fear for the continuance of my country that I have ever known. I can easily envision the middle to later chapters presented in “Atlas Shrugged” becoming reality,quite possibly within the next 4 to 8 years. Many on this page,including myself,at one time took an oath to “uphold and defend against all enemies foreign and domestic the Constitution of The United States”. I wonder how anyone wearing “the uniform” today or who wore it in the past must feel about that oathtaking at this time. My oath has been violated by those in the government of my country that also swore to protect and defend,and yet I have no voice…no voice that could get me deleted or banned from Lizardom for things I could say or advocate here,or potentially land me in jail or worse for potential actions I could take. As a student of history, today I am truly saddened by that which has passed in my country today.
