That’s true. Here in the Czech Republic, I’ve seen soldiers and civilians alike open-carry long rifles. I’ve seen civilian hunters walking down the road in smaller villages with shotguns to go pheasant hunting (and I was one of them).

Hell, I’ve even seen people open-carry swords.

Yes, there is registration and licensing here, but it’s not a big deal, nor costly. Ex-cons can also have guns, even concealed carry permits, all quite legally.

I’ve read them - as a gun owner there is nothing horrible about Germany’s or the Czech Republic’s rules that I have seen. Heck, it’s downright easy to own full automatic weapons in Belgium.
