That’s very true; I still think that what the GOP has devolved into, and in particular the Tea Party crowd, would’ve horrified both Buckley and Goldwater.

There is a difference between Theocratic Whackos and Run-of-the-Mill American Conservatives.

One is definitely more dangerous than the other.
