The Commentary article by the other Brooks is a weird pastiche of half-formed thoughts and asinine fantasy—like the idea that sociological research on the poor is divorced from actual contact with the poor—but even that article is acknowledging the problem, which is yards better than standards conservative thought.

So how about, just for a hoot, you try answering a straightforwards question like a human being?
