Sorry. I’ve got leg/back issues that are preventing me from working, so I’m in a foul mood to begin with. But what sort of triggered me on those posts was an article on philly.com that checks in with a hardcore Trump county in northern PA.

I had seen the article’s title, “Is the Trump thrill gone in Potter County”, and I immediately avoided clicking on it. Mainly because I had a sense the article would be chock-full of people insisting, Kevin Bacon in Animal House style, that Trump was on the right track. Because they’re Trump supporters; a liberal says water is wet, and you instinctively say that’s fake news regardless of evidence.

Anyways, the Inquirer handed out free Sunday editions this week as an incentive to subscribe. Lo and behold, right there on the front page was the article I’d been avoiding all week. As I was dumping the paper in recycling, this gem of a quote caught my eye:

“Can’t these idiots work together?” Domaleski, 72, an Army veteran and former Adelphia Cable employee, asked last week from behind his dark aviator sunglasses. He said he still supports Trump - still has the sign on his Coudersport lawn - but is also “totally disgusted with both parties because I happen to be an American.”

“It’s about time these Democrats and these Republicans try to meet halfway in the stream,” Domaleski said.

So, yeah, I’m not going to be in a forgiving mood towards Republicans or Trump voters anytime soon.
