Facebook is going to start ranking news outlets by trustworthiness. That ranking will be based on user surveys.

When we started using social media as a source of news about anything other than friends, family and local upcoming events, and especially when “Trending on Twitter” became a news item in and of itself, I began to fret for the future of the Republic.

And those fears seem to have been well founded.
