I’m a Virginian as you know. Slavery built this state first as a colony and then a state. You just can’t escape it. People like Dreher hurt society by acting like we should just ignore things. There’s a reason why the unfortunate African Americans caught by the CSA during the war were treated so cruelly. There’s a reason why Jefferson’s white heirs fought so hard to deny Sally Hemings fathered his kids.
