Related story, when I was in Detroit last fall visiting my baby sister, we did the Detroit International Half Marathon together. (So I have run across both the bridge and the tunnel but never driven across either.) Anyway, the day before we went by a distillery in Detroit whose name I currently forget and it turns out they had 8 gins on the menu. Of course, I wanted to try them all.

Conveniently, they offered a taster set! Two of them! Described on the menu as 4 one ounce pours, priced at $12 each. Being from CA, where there are limits on what a distillery can serve you, I thought there was no way that meant 4 one ounce pours, especially at that price. I ordered both, because I can drink 2 ounces and be fine.

Hahahaha no. They presented me with at least 8 ounces of gin. mr. klys and my sister both helped. We left several of the gins unfinished.

…I did buy a bottle of my favorite, though. I should go open that soon.

Anyway, ran the half the next day which went fine and then the Marine Corps Marathon a week after that which did not go fine but that was not the gin’s fault.
