By the way, I have no inherent bias against big pharma. But it does seem to me that a health care bill that makes serious concessions to the drug industry is going to be seriously compromised. These companies are just as cutthroat as any other major transnational, and they’re going to get the things they want, that will advance their businesses.

Nothing inherently wrong with that, again. But don’t be under the illusion that interests of the drug industry and your interests as a health care consumer are identical.

I think in the long run my interests as a health-care consumer and Big Pharma’s interest tend to converge.
