The bottom line for Cox is that slowly customers are not going for the pay TV services and streaming online. So they are raising prices for internet connection to make up for it.

This is why the term “cord cutting” when it comes to people dropping TV subscriptions is usually a misnomer. You still have a “cord”, but now the charges are just called “internet”.
