You know what civil looks like? Democrats helping other Democrats after losing to them in the primaries. And even better, not waiting until right before the election.

Back in the day, I used to interact with Crowley in the NYS legislature. He was a good guy then, and his district’s demographics have changed, and this is being remarked upon by the national media as some kind of fight for the soul of the Democratic party.

It’s all bullshit. Sometimes voters decide they want someone new (did they say the same when Rangel lost his reelection bid?) Demographic changes coupled with the fact that women and minorities are leading the charge on fighting Trump and the regressive GOP policies are coming into play.

Crowley thought he had the win wrapped up and missed the sea change that happened in his district.

It’s only a good thing for Democrats - interesting things happen when people turn out for votes. And rolling back the GOP regressive agenda starts with running candidates in every election and even giving incumbents a run for their money - keep everyone on their toes so they aren’t complacent.
