There is a viability problem if you don’t have a garage/driveway to charge them in overnight. I drive a Fusion hybrid for work, and while I can charge it while at the office, I can’t charge it over night.
I think that, combined with long charging times (on a standard residential plug), is holding back EVs more than anything.
I’ll spot you that. By far, the biggest reaction I personally run into is straight-up fear that the car is going to die in the middle of nowhere, and you’ll be devoured by a pack of wolves because gas-powered cars never, ever run out of fuel.
