How can only 56% disapprove and how can 39.6% approve? How mindless do you have to be to support this monster? Or maybe not mindless — just evil.

OTOH, maybe this just demonstrates how gullible people really are and how brainwashing really pays off. Most of us don’t have the expertise or knowledge or time to evaluate the truth of various statements about science or history or the state of the world — we have to rely on others, whom we trust, to provide us the information. We need objective analysis by others to reach a coherent decision. And we don’t have agreed upon authorities that all — or a majority — accept. So too many just default to their favorite Faux News programs, their pastors, or their weekly newsletters from Newt Gingrich.
