If an organization in receipt of federal funds allows some portion of those funds to be spirited away or otherwise misplaced or misappropriated, then we have clear indications of misuse or mishandling of taxpayers’ funds. Given that ACORN is a beneficiary of the tax-payer, irregularities in their books amounts to a form of theft from the US Treasury and the people of the US.

That ACORN took no actions to rectify the theft, this is the problem, not that they were the victims of embezzlement by associates of their founders.
