I’m not a big fan of filibusters but this looks like another short sighted partisan attempt to advance an agenda without bipartisan support. They’re going to want those filibusters in a few election cycles when they’re in the minority. I don’t expect much support for bipartisanship from Republicans but it would be nice and it would be good for the country. These dreams that we’re going to vanquish and steamroll our political opponents is unhelpful, divisive and unpractical.

It needs to be reformed. The Senate was not expected to be forced to run as a supermajority when handling legislation.
