re: #48 Rightwingconspirator

Oh boy. Question becomes, legally speaking here not morally….
Does the use of deadly force policy allow a policeman to shoot a fleeing felon absent an immediate threat to public safety? How long does that “fear for his life” window from the struggle at the police vehicle.

Lawhawk? Any police trainers in?

Going back to your original statement, I think you could have gotten the discussion you wanted if you had replaced the word felon with the word suspect.

Maybe you were looking to discuss the general concept but using such specific descriptions relevant to the case at hand and then describing the person in the role of Michael Brown - who had no criminal record - as a “felon” (which is a term typically applied to those convicted of a crime) was then somewhat distracting to what you wanted to discuss.

I don’t think it was anything other than poor choice in words but particularly in the context of the right-wing smear machine going in full force against Michael Brown, I think the pushback from your fellow Lizards is reasonable.
