We are still at the front end of this pandemic. While people are anxious about the deaths so far, it appears as if only a tiny fraction of our population have been infected.
Unless there have been vastly more infected than the case counts currently show, which some people who want to downplay Covid-19 keep proposing, then we have to keep the social distancing/lockdowns in place until a vaccine is developed, or else this pandemic will end up being the biggest depopulation event since WWII.

isolating for a month doesnt end this thing in a macro way
testing negative doesnt end it for you in a micro way
trying to figure how to not infect each other or get infected, while some semblance of life goes on *is* the new normal
