As bad as the USA is, China’s attitudes about sex on TV and movies is back in the 1950s. The censors cut out any nudity at all — such as Kate Winslet posing for Leo DiCaprio in the 3D release of Titanic — and last year told a domestic TV production that their period costumes were showing too much cleavage. Meanwhile, the Chinese public routinely skirts the censorship by downloading movies, TV shows and porn from the Internet.

Kinda like Utah.

I think it would come as a surprise to many American social conservatives that their prudishness about sex is similar to Communists. It’s not just China as you know, the Soviet Union under Stalin especially was far from socially liberal.
