My wife and I had a conversation about smoking a couple of weeks ago - we were talking about buying vape pens in order to cut down on our smoking. We went to our local vape store on Saturday and each got one.

Early results - I’ve had four cigarettes since Saturday afternoon. Four. This is a big deal. There have been days when I’d have four cigarettes before my first cup of coffee (okay, that’s a light exaggeration, but only a light one. I do like my smokes.).

I’m not even doing this with an eye on quitting right now, just cutting down on the level of real smoke I’m taking in. If it gets to the point where I can kiss them goodbye altogether, I’d consider it a bonus. But I’m encouraged that I really don’t miss my companions of more than 50 years. It’s a better start than I’d anticipated.

Congradumalashuns. I once quit entirely for nine years (long story why I started again).

Such things as vape shops are unavailable where I live, sadly.
