Well, the GOP has been working at this all my life. I suppose it is proof that anyone can become President. (Whether anyone should be President is another story.)

I don’t know what it is about conservative voters thinking businessmen (I’ll spot Trump that one) make great governmental leaders. Historically, businessmen have been bad government officials. (I know why businesses want businessmen; it makes the problems of graft so much simpler.)

Conservatives believe that governments and schools (to name but two) can be run exactly like businesses. They try applying business practices to government - balanced budgets, for example — and to schools — quality control of “widgets” called students — then wonder why all their best efforts fail miserably. Worse yet, they do it over and over again, despite all the evidence disproving the original premise. Even more worse, voters keep putting these idiots back in office, expecting different results.

It’s some kind of mass delusion with these people.
